First Time Home Buyer Programs

RRSP Home Buyer Plan (HBP)

allows you to borrow funds from your retirement savings towards the down payment.

Withdrawal limit is $60,000. You have up to 15 years to repay the funds back to your RRSP account.

First Home Savings Account (FHSA)

lets you save in a tax free way and withdraw funds for your first home purchase.

Annual contribution limit is $8,000. Lifetime contribution limit is $40,000.

First Time Home Buyer Tax Credit

claim up to $10,000 when purchasing a qualifying home for a non-refundable tax credit of $1,500
